Close to 100,000 patients die in U.S. hospitals every year from medical errors—more than those who die from auto accidents, AIDS and breast cancer combined, according to the Institute of Medicine. In addition, many more people die or are permanently disabled from outpatient care due to the lack of time for doctors to see and treat patients adequately; the difficulty for doctors to keep up-to-date on the latest medical information; the bureaucracy issues that weigh doctors down and inhibit them from giving patients their best advice; and the list goes on.
We are here to help ensure it does not happen to you or to your family and friends.
Foundation to Solicit Grant ApplicationsThe Cautious Patient Foundation (CPF) supports creative, grassroots programs that successfully motivate patients toward greater engagement in their personal or family healthcare process. Specifically, CPF will prioritize funding for grants based on a proposed project’s potential to affect a wide number of patients. Proposed projects must align with the values of CPF and the specific areas of interest on which the foundation is focused. They are: improving patient-provider communication, increasing healthcare safety, and promoting successful outcomes through educational programs and/or technology-based tools.
